The Portuguese city of Águeda, with 30,000 inhabitants located south of Oporto, has become a world reference for its unique street decorations with colorful umbrellas, an initiative that has been exported to the whole world.Municipality of Águeda established in 1853 and located along the Vouga River, a favorable position between coastal and inland areas giving the municipality various socio-economic advantages which in 1985 ranked one of the most developed countries in recent years in that area.Who would have thought that at such a low cost the Portuguese city of Águeda would force its guests to make a stop to enjoy the multicolored crown of umbrellas that resembled the artery of the city. The most appropriate time to visit this place is sunny days, as the streets will be painted by various colorful figures. Passing through the multicolored tunnel of umbrellas accompanied by live street music  you cannot stay without doing self in front of the painted stairs and various shops. Remember that in July there is a festival in  Águeda called AgitÁgueda that lasts for 3 weeks the livelihood reaches its peak. Keeping in mind that  Águeda is not too far from the city of Aveiro, which has the  nickname of “Venice of Portugal”, just 20km away I advise you not to miss the chance to take a boat trip.  In  Águeda you will enjoy as it is not difficult to reach any other place to fulfill your wishes.
