2The Dark Hedges, Ballymoney, Northern Ireland

One of the locations that should be part of any trip to Ireland is The Dark Hedges of Northern Ireland. It is without a doubt one of the most incredible places that I have had the good fortune to see.We say it is incredible for its ancient fairy tale history but also for its magnificent and wild appearance that captivates your imagination in that unspeakable era. It is said that at the beginning of the 18th century some 150 trees were planted by James Stuart on both sides of this street in front of his real estate, in front of a house called Gracehill House. This road today amazes you with its magnificent appearance as a piece of the Amazon jungle located in the middle of the plain of Northern Ireland, about 1 hour away from Belfast and 3 hours away from Dublin. As a mammoth natural tunnel measuring 6 to 10 meters wide, this part of the street gained fame after the shooting of the TV game “Game of Thrones” and then with the movie “2017 Transformers”. Gracehill House still exists today with a bar and restaurant in it. Hedges Dark has become one of the most photographed places in Ireland that attracts more and more guests, so the most appropriate time to see and photograph is early in the morning or at sunset. I was very sad when I saw some damaged trees and the inscriptions on their trunk, in the hope that recent government decisions are making efforts to preserve this ancient gift.
