The Manchester canal network came about for this purpose, and it has remained one of the city’s highlights until today. The network includes the Manchester Ship Canal, which is a 58 km inland waterway that powers the manufacturing growth and progress. Today, the canals have been repurposed for leisure and are now one of the most famous tourist attractions and activities for visitors.
