This country is composed of a large island that lies in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa. The home to different species and to the lemurs, Madagascar also has rainforests and beaches that add to its charm. What makes it unique is that its language has no relation with the African language. The people here speak an Austronesian language called Malagasy and which is also similar to a dialect in the Philippines (Ilocano) and Indonesia (Javanese).
