The Vatican is an embodiment of history, culture, and age long civilization. This sovereign state is governed by the Bishop of Rome, also known as the pope. It is the smallest country in the world and is surrounded by medieval renaissance walls, with only about a thousand residents. The Vatican is truly a tourist trap that is worth all the hype. You can visit the St. Peter’s Basilica, which is regarded as the centerpiece of the entire city. Many visitors are enticed to join tours, but you can also have your own tour of the place and bury yourself in bewilderment and wonder.
