Basilica of Santa Chiara

Built by King of Ajou between 1310 and 1340. From the outside, it is common to fall in love with the simplicity of the design and the power it commands. Basilica of Santa Chiara contains relics of San Francesco and Saint Claire in the form of their original clothing. One of the best ways to enjoy a visit here is to walk around in a group where you’ll be able to learn about the history of the church. Gesù Nuovo Church

Originally this place was a palace built in 1470 for the prince of Salerno. From the outside, you’ll see the square where both are recognized together as a great place to visit for the holidays. For many reasons, Gesù Nuovo Church or New Jesus Church is one of the most significant in Naples. It’s a beautiful and breathtaking sight to behold, with baroque sculptures and paintings of different styles. Belisario Corenzio and Paolo de Matteis, two highly talented painters were responsible for creating vault frescoes that represent saintly and biblical narratives. It also contains several chapels each with its majestic value including the chapel of visitation, Chapel of Saint Francis Xavier, Chapel of St. Francis Borgia, sacred heart chapel, nativity chapel, Chapel of St Ignatius of Loyola, and Chapel of the Crucifix. St. Domenico Maggiore Church

Founded by the friars of the Dominican Order, this church remains a thing of marvel, especially when seeing it for the first time. Apart from the magnificent size of the church, it also contains an intricate design on the ceiling and pillars within. It’s a treasure of high value that has remained the pride of Naples since it was built by Charles I of Anjou between 1283 and 1324. St. Domenico Maggiore Church contains a sacred relics chamber which was originally built to preserve the hearts of three important Kings of Naples. The first Catholic Bishop of New York, Bishop Richard Luke Concanen, is also buried here.
