The Ohio State Reformatory is located at Mansfield, Ohio and it is a castle that was built as a facility to handle child offenders. The Reformatory was shut down in 1990 after it was realized that the conditions of living there were inhumane and brutalizing. The trapped souls of the brutalized inmates still suffer behind the Gothic-castle walls. Visitors have been attacked physically by ghosts of furious men. Visitors have heard their names being called by eerie voices to warn them from climbing to the upper tiers. The former female warden, Helen still devastated, continuously cries out. Waverly Hills Sanatorium

Waverly Hills Sanatorium is located in Louisville, Kentucky and it was built to house patients that were suffering from the White Plague; tuberculosis. The pain and sad demise of many of the residents of Waverly left a dark form of energy that still lingers in the air. Visitors have said they felt a presence of being followed by ghostly figures. There have being footsteps made by phantoms especially in the area called ‘the death tunnel”, the area where the patients met their final end. The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum

The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is located in Weston, West Virginia and it was where the unwanted in the society were dumped. It soon became a melting pot of misery. When the facility was locked down in 1994, the ghost of many patients who died there was trapped. The ghosts of tortured in-mates still scream out in pain. The most famous spirit, Lily still stays in her beautifully painted room, awaiting a playmate. The Red Onion Saloon

The Red Onion Saloon is in Skagway, Alaska and it was one of the most frequented brothels in the area around the 19th century. The ghost of the Brothel’s former madam, Diamond Lil still stalks the building. She still watches over her girls. Male visitors have reported that they have been caressed by ghostly fingers and have had a seductive voice whisper to their ears. The Lake County History Center

The Lake County History Center is located in Painesville Ohio, and it is a site of the frequent occurrence of paranormal activities. The Lack County History Center which is now a museum was once a housing facility for the poor, sick, mentally ill, orphans, widows, and criminals in the society. Visitors have reported very dark energy around the facility. There are ghostly moans, cries of children, large figures of shadows along the hallway. Mission San Miguel

The Mission San Miguel is located at San Luis Obispo California and a priest founded the site in the 18th century. The Mission was built alongside other missions to connect like a chain to heaven. The mission was converted into a hotel and was managed by a man named Reed in the 19th century. Reed and his family members were murdered in cold blood by criminals who were out to seek gold. The ghosts of Reed and his family still visit the center till date. This is definitely one of the scariest places somebody can visit in the United States.
