Get the opportunity to explore and enjoy the great waterfall on the Nile River as it offers impressive views. You can involve yourself in some fishing activities. While in the Murchison Falls, you can find an array of wildlife, from giraffes to crocodiles. Visiting Murchison Falls National Park or Murchison Falls National Park is virtually mandatory on any travel itinerary through Uganda. It was the first national park I visited on my country trip and, in turn, the place where I made the first safari of my life, so you can imagine how special it is for me. There I saw giraffes, lions, antelopes, elephants and phacokers (‘pumba’) for the first time in my life. But above all I knew what it feels like to drive through endless and wonderful landscapes. Because Murchison Falls, besides being the largest national park in Uganda, is also probably the prettiest. The animals make the experience complete, but just to see those landscapes is worth it. As I was saying, this is the largest national park in Uganda with 3840km2. It became one of the first national parks in the country in 1952. The park is divided by the Nile: in the northern section, you will find savanna, palm trees, acacias and river forests; In the southern section, however, the forest predominates. 80 km of rapids are the prelude to a huge and mighty waterfall of about 45 meters, the waterfall that gives its name to the park. And after so much activity, he relaxes and becomes a wide and quiet river that reaches Lake Albert. In Murchison Falls we find 76 different mammal species and up to 451 species of birds.Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
