Colchester Castle was constructed around 1069 and completed on 1100, and it’s one of the best examples of complete Norman castles. It was built on top of the foundations of a Roman temple, and you can see the foundations and vaults when you take a tour of the castle. Make sure to visit the Colchester Castle Museum, which contains exciting displays and hands-on exhibits. Click the next ARROW to see the next image!
