Experts estimate that the Castlerigg Stone Circle was built in 3,000 BC and that it was used for ceremonies or religious purposes. It’s one of the oldest stone circles in the UK and one of the most impressive, with a diameter of around 30 meters and a rectangle made of 10 stones in the center.
