Covering around 2,000 square kilometers, it’s home to interesting wildlife and features breathtaking landscapes with rivers, woodland, peatland, and heather moors. It was given the status of Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1988 and should definitely on your list of must-see attractions in Cumbria.
