Based on the 1905 novel of the same title by E. M. Forster, Where Angels Fear to Tread was a successful British drama film released in 1991. It tells the story of a poor Tuscan dentist who got married to a rich Edwardian lady. When the woman dies in childbirth, the dentist’s English in-laws try to claim custody of the baby. Where Angels Fear to Tread was shot mainly on location in San Gimignano in the province of Siena.
