The Sea Tiger was once a Chinese-owned vessel used to transport illegal immigrants. However, the U.S. Coast Guard confiscated the ship in 1992. The ship was then auctioned to Voyager submarines for only $1. However, they spent over $250,000 to acquire logistical and environmental approval to sink it for tourist use.
