The tragic fate of SS President Coolidge was due to the underwater mines that the ship hit off the coast of Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean. Only 2 passengers didn’t survive the wreck, while the rest made it along with some guns, chandeliers, jeeps, cannons, and a mosaic tile fountain.
