What was used as Winterfell was indeed called Doune Castle in Scotland. Doune Castle was later replaced by Castle Ward estate south of Belfast in Northern Ireland. However, the impressive towers of Winterfell were reportedly computer-generated. Click the next ARROW to see the next image!
