One of the three stone-arched bridges in Durham, this structure crosses the River Wear. Regarded as a romantic landscape, this bridge gives a beautiful view of the Durham Cathedral and Castle. It was built between 1772 and 1778 by George Nicholson. While it is wide, it only functions as a footbridge since it only leads to Riverside paths. Click the next ARROW to see the next image!
