Visiting the Chester Zoo is a must if you and/or your kids are animal lovers. Here, you’ll get to see more than 15,000 animals that represent around 500 species and live in the 125 acres of land that the zoo owns. Observe exotic and vulnerable (and even endangered) animals, such as the tuatara, Komodo dragon, black rhino, okapi, and warty pig. A little further from the center, there is also another of Chester’s most important tourist attractions, the so-called Chester Zoo, which is the largest zoo in the UK. It has 445,000 square meters of surface and more than 11,000 animals. This is one of the best zoos in all of Europe and a great place to visit if you are traveling with children. They have a cool bat cave with free-flying bats, as well as a large elephant area. It’s a bit out of town, but it’s an easy place to spend a few hours walking and exploring.
