Unlike many European countries that permit free use of restrooms, Ukraine charge restroom users to ease themselves. Well, it isn’t that bad. Wouldn’t you rather pay to have a discomfiture taken away from you? Be thankful. Experience tells us that in many public places the services are in deplorable conditions. Lack of hygiene is the most striking factor. I have talked to many friends and family about it and almost everyone agrees on one aspect. The vast majority would pay to use public toilets, as long as they are in perfect conditions of use, that is, clean. Which brings us to two obvious conclusions. We are a country of pigs, and those responsible for maintaining these toilets should take greater care in their hygiene. It is clear that if someone finds a clean bathroom, they will leave it clean, but if they find it dirty, they will not bother their care.
