8Gate of the Sun in Bolivia

This archaeological site in the ancient city of Tiahuanaco is the location of one of the ruins of the structures discovered by archaeologists. This three-metre stone was given its name because it seemed to be an opening to something. On the stone are carvings of humans with wings and tails while at the centre is the “Sun God” with rays beneath it. Click the next ARROW to see the next image!
