One of the most attractive villages in East Lothian is East Linton, which lies along the John Muir Way route. You can find the Hailes Castle on foot as you take the route from East Linton. If you like to explore different locations, you should come and experience the true beauty of this village. If you are a fan of the Outlander series, you will surely remember a scene in which Jamie gets stuck in minor cloths when trying to repair the wheel of a water mill. Well, it was shot in Preston Mill, an 18th century mill that looks like something out of a fairy tale thanks to its curious conical Dutch-style roof. Located in a very bucolic corner in East Lothian, it may seem small but it has a lot to see and discover. In the surrounding waters it is possible to see otters or kingfishers.
