Deserts are massive expanses of land covered in sand. Inherently deserts are dangerous because of the volatile weather conditions changing constantly and the lack of water. Of course there are different types of deserts and most are often traversed via camels who are used to the heat of the day and the extreme cold of the night. Another condition that makes certain deserts incredibly dangerous are wild animals and parasites. More specifically, deadly poisonous scorpions and snakes make their home in the desert. Sahara covers a big part of North Africa and is said to be the largest hot desert in the world with over 9 million square kilometers. It is certainly the most famous. It’s size greatly contributes to how dangerous it is and how difficult it is to traverse if one is not well enough prepared. Click the next ARROW to see the next image!
