Tyrone Power and Orson Welles star in this film adapted from Samuel Shellabarger’s novel, of the same name. In the year of release in 1949, the movie was received with much enthusiasm for its action scenes and cinematic value. Prince of Foxes was nominated for two Oscar awards in the 22nd Academy award in the best costume design and best black and white cinematography award, both of which it lost. The shooting of the movie took place in different destinations in San Marino, Italy, including in the Cinecitta Studios in Rome.
