3Capuchin Catacombs of Palermo, Italy
Source: Link
What makes the Capuchin Catacombs is that bones aren’t incorporated into the structure. Rather, they’re artfully displayed in niches, shelves, and even glass-covered coffins, many of them wearing clothes and some even set in lifelike poses. Studying the remains can be eerie since a few are well-preserved, like the body of two-year-old Rosalia Lombardo. Click the next ARROW to see the next image!
