Elizabeth Gilbert, an American in Italy, falls in love with the country as she goes around the world on a journey of self-discovery. The book showcases the main character exploring the rich culture of Rome and Naples, including its food. The book has long been turned into a movie. Tantra is a thousand-year-old Hindu philosophy that has as its main objective to achieve the unity of being, to rejoin the primordial consciousness. Being as part of the totality, and this as an expression of the One. In this search for the self, the film Eat, pray, love, based on the novel of the same name. Filled with endearing scenes, some unfold when the main character Elizabeth Gilbert is in Italy. In fact, there is a key moment for the entire development of the tape. Disillusioned with life, Elizabeth goes on a long journey in search of herself. That search begins in Italy, where food reveals to him the pleasures of living, of enjoying, and with it the need to leave behind bitterness, sadness. Enjoying a spaghetti bolognese, with background music from The Magic Flute, becomes a revelation as you watch a couple hug, kiss and caress. Just what she doesn’t have at the time. In a barbershop a man named Luca Spaghetti almost yelled at him that “Americans” do not know how to enjoy life, they do not know about pleasure, he teaches them about “the sweetness of doing nothing”. And it is a delicious dish: pizza, which comes to put all the magic behind its exquisite flavors. The last pizza so attacked because it makes you fat, because it has dairy products, because of the flour, because of the combinations, because it is bad for your health, however, the pizzas are sold more and more every day and conquer more and more people. They have many variations, and are the highlight of the culinary delights of Italian food. A creation that reflects the best of globalization –which is already old–, since without the Mexican tomato the dish as we know it today would not exist. So to eat without guilt –the Italians say–, to enjoy tantrically each bite and to find each flavor, each texture, each secret undressed. Eating, enjoying at every turn, seeing the good in life is the secret that Italians teach Elizabeth Gilbert. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
