In 1999, a James Bond novel saw the agent trekking up the dramatic ridges of this 28,169-foot mountain, where he may have stopped to admire the splendid view. However, as the hero knows well, looks can certainly be deceiving, as bitter colds and avalanches colds make this one of the deadliest mountains in the world. Kangchenjunga, located on the border between Nepal and India, in the Great Himalayas, east-southeast of Mount Everest, is estimated to be the third highest mountain in the world since 1856. The mountain is thought to have been created by the tectonic activity of the Asian and Indian plates 50 million years ago. It consists of five high ridges called “Five Snow Treasures”, which are followed by a large number of other ridges up to 8000 meters high, giving a beautiful stretch of mountainous area, which supplies four large glaciers. Kangchenjunga climbing route from the only climbing route on the Indian side is less usable than the three-way climb from Nepal territory. The mountain is located in an area between Nepal and India is a bit isolated and difficult to explore. Various histories and legends are told about the mountain area, which is in their religious rites a sacred place. Many climbers have lost their lives here, due to heavy snowfall, heavy rains during the summer monsoon season and unforeseen weather changes. The mountain area has not been explored much, so it has preserved its virginity, as the most beautiful part of the national park of India and Nepal. Click the next ARROW to see the next image!
