The flag of the United States of America, or simply referred to as the American flag, has thirteen horizontal stripes of alternating red and white colors. In canton is a blue rectangle filled with 50 stars representing the 50 states of USA. The 13 stripes signify the 13 other colonies that declared independence from Britain.
