The Grand Bassin is one of the famous lakes in the world. It is nestled on a mountain which is located at 1800ft above ground level. The Grand Bassin in Mauritius is the holiest Hindu place on the island. The lake is home to the famous temple of Lord Shiva which welcomes Hindi pilgrims during celebrations like Maha Shivaratri.
