This UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its 1,500 conical roof structures called trulli and built without mortar. Visit this place for a perfect weekend getaway and a trip back to the past with its rich history. In the heart of the Apulia Region -the “Heel” of Italy- is one of the strangest and most picturesque villages in all of Italy: Alberobello. What makes Alberobello one of the most important tourist destinations in southern Italy is its “Trullos”: white cylindrical buildings with conical stone roofs. The main tourist activity in Alberobello is admiring the trulli, walking through its alleys, entering interesting museums and its craft or typical gastronomy businesses. The most picturesque areas of Alberobello are mainly made up of Trullos, more than a thousand of them. One of these areas is called “Rione Monti” and it consists of small and narrow alleys with a high slope crossed by other wider streets on the slopes.
