This marvelous sight spans over 6,000km from the fortresses of Jiayuguan in the west and the Shanhaiguan in the east. Rising as high as 16m in places, it averages 6-8m in height, wide enough for cavalry to pass the wall. The most visited wall to date is the area near the Badaling Pass, which is northwest of Beijing.
