Capela dos Ossos (“Chapel of Bones” in English) is located beside the Church of St. Francis and is one of the most popular attractions in Evora. Its walls and pillars are constructed from bones and skulls, while two skeletons hang from ropes. The chapel was built to help people contemplate on the transition of life.
