With the marquees status of this 29,029-foot mountain (the tallest mountain of the world at that), it would be easy to presume that that this is the deadliest mountain among others. However, this mountain claims a fairly small 9 percent of its climbers, based on the total number of attempts each year. The world’s highest mountain Everest, located on the border between Nepal and China, in the Himalayan range, was created 50 million years ago by the tectonic action of the Indian plate with the Asian plate. His geological study verifies the composition of different formations folded one on top of the other, such as limestone, sedimentary, granite and other formations. Reaching the highest peak in the world has its legend written over the years by climbers from all over the world, starting with the first British group in 1921 and to this day where the achievements are most studied. Achievements can be made in two directions, from southeast to Nepal and the other from north to Tibet. Both of these countries are making efforts to attract as many tourists as possible, which is a great source of income. The southern route is more suitable, however the weather, winds, altitude sickness and avalanches have taken the lives of many people. Mount Everest with its pyramidal peak is a very difficult mountain to climb, for its placement in an isolated area. The best time to climb Everest is in front of the monsoon, in April and May where the danger of avalanches is less. Click the next ARROW to see the next image!
